Principal's Welcome Letter

July 2025

Dear Parents/Guardians:

Welcome to the 2025-26 school year. As we start the new school year together on Monday, August 18, 2025, the staff at Wishon Elementary School looks forward to working with you and your child. Our Wishon staff strongly believes that the education of children is a partnership between the home and the school, and that parent involvement is crucial to the success of our students. Please mark Thursday, August 14, 2025 for Wishon’s Back to School Night from 5:30pm – 7:00pm where you will meet our staff and receive important information about the coming school year.

The Wishon Elementary School office will extend their hours on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, for registration. The office will be open through 7:00 PM.

Class lists will be posted Thursday, August 14, 2025, on the cafeteria and/or office windows. These lists will indicate your child’s teacher and room number. No room changes will be made prior to Tuesday, September 9, 2025. Please note that due to the possible enrollment changes we may need to create or collapse classrooms. There is a possibility that your child may be moved to a different class. We will contact you if this occurs.

Our district will be implementing an early release schedule on Tuesdays of a five-day school week for teacher professional development. Please visit our district website for calendar details: https://www.fresnounified.org/calendars/

Regular School Day Daily Schedule: TK & Kindergarten 8:00am – 1:05pm Grades 1st – 6 th 8:00am – 2:05pm Early Release School Day Daily Schedule: TK & Kindergarten 8:00am – 12:00pm Grades 1st – 6 th 8:00am – 1:00pm

Parent conferences will be held during the week of October 20th through October 24th, 2024, and the dismissal will be 65 minutes prior to our regular dismissal. We will follow our early release schedule.

Breakfast is served from 7:30am through 7:50am and our After School Program is available daily until 6:00pm. Continue to check the transportation website for updates to bus routes: https://transportation.fresnounified.org/bus-routes/
